Summer 2017.
Someone abandoned a cat on Danijela's street.
He lived there for months until winter, when Danijela first heard about him and decided to help because he was clearly ill and exhausted. But on that very day he disappeared without a trace. Later, it was discovered that a neighbor, who disliked street cats, had driven him far away and abandoned him.
Months passed with no sign of him.
In March 2018, during a snowstorm, Danijela felt a strong urge to visit another neighborhood and photograph the local street cats for a trap-neuter-return project while bringing them food. Through the deep snow, a cat slowly walked toward her.
It was him.
She named him Rambo, because he looked like a true survivor who had endured countless battles on the streets.
Veterinarians diagnosed him with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) along with several other health problems caused by years of life outdoors. He was frightened, distrustful, and deeply scarred by survival.
Many believed he wouldn't live long. Some even suggested returning him to the streets because they considered him too wild. But he was given a chance.
For almost two years Danijela dedicated her time, patience, and love to him. Slowly his fear faded, revealing a cat who experienced the feeling of having a real home for the first time.
One feature always caught people's attention, his unusual ears. Many asked why they were damaged instead of "perfect."
Those ears eventually became the symbol of the MicMao brand. What was once the mark of a difficult life has become a symbol of courage, resilience, and second chances. Rambo's ears are now part of our logo and appear on every MicMao product as a reminder that every design tells a real story.
Today, his journey continues through Rambo's Lotrščak Tower. It stands as a reminder that one rescued animal can transform people's lives and help many more street cats still waiting for their own second chance.
